I could not go to class, because I was sick with stomach ache, but I'll be comments according to the themes chosen for the presentations, because I could not appreciate my classmates’ performance.

1. Tools for teaching English by Maria OrmeƱo.
Teachers in general must adapt to the changes that are arising in the society. For that reason, we should change the way of teaching according to the necessities of nowadays. We have to take advantage of the variety of technological tools which were designed in order to obtain easier the learning process. Today is no longer enough to teach to students using only a textbook, because it is boring. We can be more interactive teachers using the Internet, the data show and power point’s presentations as well. In that manner we can improve the education’s quality. Furthermore, using tools that students manage, they go to participate and learn more in classes.

2. Only English movement by Paula Villaseca:

it is a political movement that proposes the use of English as the only official language in the United States of America. The movement followers argue that the formalization of English will increase opportunities to learn and speak English for many immigrants in the United States.
Although all government‘s federal documents are written in English in US, the law does not specify the use of English as a official Language; although most States do it locally.

I agree that United States is a country with a large number of immigrants, where many of them are Latin American people whose native language is Spanish. And when they arrive in EEUU in search of new opportunities, they have to learn English, because this language gives them access to best benefits. Because, It is important that there is an official language, especially in USA because English is part of the culture of USA. Therefore foreign people must adapt themselves to the country that they are arriving and learn the language of the country as a minimum.

On the other hand, the Microteaching’s topic is important for general knowledge, but it is not essential for me as a teacher in Chile, unless that I have the possibility of to work in USA.
